WelcomeHello and welcome to the 124th Nottingham Scout group. We are situated in the centre of Wollaton village, Nottingham, England. What is Scouting ? Scouting involves a progressive training scheme which spans the 6 to 25 age range and is currently made up of 5 sections, (Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Explorer Scouts & The Scout Network) each with its own identity, ethos and style. They all have adult support which varies in the different age groups, the older age groups becoming increasingly responsible for their own programmes. At whatever age, a young person in the Movement is a "Scout". From its inception Scouting has had a simple and positive Promise that is required to be made by all its members. Together with the Scout Law, this gives a distinctive ethos to the practices of the movement and acts as a bond with Scouts in other countries. The "Woggle" is our annual news letter detailing activities and events that have taken place though out the year. You can view our 2006 Woggle by clicking HERE. Ethnic Diversity The 124th Scout Group is committed to giving all young people in the community the opportunity to fully participate in Scouting regardless of their ethnicity, nationality, religious beliefs or cultural identity. Sainsurys Active Kids scheme for 2008
The Scheme this year runs from 14/02/08 until 04/06/08. We could do with collecting as many tokens as we can between these dates, to hopefully spend on new equipment for the group.
