Virtual Family Pub Quiz

We’re missing our young people and their families, – so it would be great if you could come and join us for our inaugural virtual Family Pub Quiz, at 7pm on Friday 22nd May. Nothing too taxing, just a little fun to ease us into the weekend, hosted by Jack, one of our Explorer Scouts. Family friendly questions, you provide the beer and bar snacks and we’ll provide a small prize for the winning team.

Joining instructions will be emailed directly to our families shortly.

Hope to see you there!

ALL FACE TO FACE SECTION MEETINGS CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

ALL FACE TO FACE SECTION MEETINGS CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
The Scout Assocation have decided to suspend all face to face section meetings and Scouting activities until further notice due to the current Coronavirus situation. This decision has been made to protect the health of our leader team (some of whom are in the more high-risk age ranges for Coronavirus) and to prevent transmission of the virus between leaders, young people, our helpers and their families.

However, we are introducing a number of on-line and virtual activities ranging from badge work at home through to hosting virtual section meetings using Zoom and other on-line apps. The relevant section leaders will be in touch and as when these resources become available.

We also plan to run some virtual online Group social activities for parents/Carers, supporters and friends of the 124th and will be publicising these over the next couple of weeks. We’re may even run a virtual Family Camp!

ALL SECTION MEETINGS CANCELLED FOR NEXT 3 WEEKS (i.e. The run-up to the Easter Holidays)

The group have decided to suspend all section meetings and Scouting activities for the next 3 weeks with immediate effect. This will mean there will be no Beaver, Cub, Scout or Explorer Scout meetings before the Easter Holidays. This decision has been made to protect the health of our leader team (some of whom are in the more high-risk age ranges for Coronavirus) and to prevent transmission of the virus between leaders, young people, our helpers and their families. We know that this is disappointing news but are sure that you will understand the reasons for our decision.
The group will review this situation during the Easter holidays and issue an update at that time.

A MESSAGE FOR 75th PARENTS/CARERS:

We here at the 124th are really sorry to hear the news about the 75th closing. We will of course do what we can to help.

We operate a waiting list to ensure that we allocate available spaces fairly as and when they become available.

Please note that currently our Beaver waiting list is large as we only have one Beaver Colony – however we are looking to create a second Beaver Colony as soon as we have the right number of leaders to enable this. Our Beaver Colony is at capacity for the next few months. However, these nearby groups maybe be able to offer your child an immediate place:

  • 15th Nottingham Scouts on Woodside Road.
  • 113th Nottingham Scouts on Tremayne Road.
  • Here is the link to our waiting list: http://www.124thnottinghamscouts.org.uk/joining-the-124th/

Please message us if you have any questions – but please note applications are only accepted via the link above due to GDPR regulations.
