Thank you from Hope Nottingham

To everybody involved in the 124th Nottingham Scout Group
Whilst it has undoubtedly been a source of great frustration for you that you are unable to meet together in the ways that you are used to, I want to pass on some good news about how your Scout group have been making a difference to the local community during these recent, difficult times.

Through the fine driving and impeccable navigation of Richard and Helen respectively, your minibus has taken out (as of 17/06/20) 330 food parcels to people currently struggling through financial and food poverty across the city. Our food parcels some in three different sizes – Single Person, Couple and Family. When you factor these all in, we have worked out that the average number of people per food parcel as being just shy of 5 people per parcel, meaning that as a result of your minibus, approximately 1690 people have been fed, and for that you all have my sincere thanks.

Hope Nottingham currently have an arrangement with the White Hills Park Trust – a network of schools across the NG9 region – whereby we provide food parcels to replace free schools meals that the most vulnerable of children have been unable to receive for a large part of this pandemic. The 124th Nottingham Scout Group have delivered to well in excess of 200 of these households, which should be a great source of pride to your group. It is so encouraging to see an organisation that is designed for young people, helping other young people across their community.

I hope that you are all able to meet again soon, and I hope this letter serves as a source of encouragement that, even though you are unable to meet currently, the good work of the Scouts continues!
My very best wishes to you all.

Chris Dilks
